For one week in April, Milan becomes a place to look closely. The Salone del Mobile fills the fairgrounds at Rho, and the Fuorisalone spreads through the city's courtyards, showrooms and studios, most of it free to walk into.

We go for the same reason we take educators into ateliers and piazzas: to see how materials, light and space are used by people who think about them all day. Much of what applies to a chair or a room applies to a classroom.
